Hello, my name is Mike Smith and I built this website, MatShots, as a way to promote wrestling, wrestling athletes, and their efforts.

 Images on this website are to support sports media coverage for regional newsprint, school publications, sports information websites, and specialized sports publications.

As a staff photographer for Anderson Publications, I cover numerous sporting events in the South Dakota area.

I also shoot regularly for WrestlingUSA magazine, which includes local, state, regional, and national competitions.

My photos have also been used in Sports Illustrated, numerous regional newspapers, and on several SD wrestling programs.

All the website work is done by myself,  nothing fancy, just quality action photos.

With over 21 years of sports photography experience, I strive to catch the action and emotion of the event I am covering.

One of the most enjoyable things to come out of MatShots has been the chance to get to know the athletes and their families.
